CenPOS was founded under the leadership of very senior and experienced executives from within the Payment Processing and Banking Industries, each having many years of experience in creating, building and managing highly successful organizations.

Jorge Fernandez

Founder and CEO of CenPOS. His banking career has spanned more than 25 years, starting in 1979 withy Royal Bank Trust of Miami where he started as a teller. Mr. Fernandez holds degrees from the American Institute of Banking and the University of Florida. He would later become the Retail Banking Division Vice President for Commercial Bank of Florida where he was responsible for a 16 branch network including growth and budgetary initiatives. Mr. Fernandez became involved in credit card processing when Jefferson National Bank became a principal member of MasterCard and Visa and they recruited him to initiate the program from the ground up. He later became the main figure in creating the merchant acquiring program for the bank and would later branch out and create his own company in 1999, Merchant Services USA, Inc.

Merchant Services USA was sold to a publicly traded company and in 2002, Mr. Fernandez would again enter in to the electronic processing arena when he created CenPOS systems.

German Gonzalez

Director, Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Gonzalez has over 20 years of experience in the information technology field, having served in senior level management positions with some of the leading providers of technology solutions to the payment industry. Prior to joining CenPOS, German served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Sigmenta, a leading provider of fraud prevention solutions to the banking and non-banking sector. Prior to Sigmenta, Mr. Gonzalez served in several Senior Management positions at eFunds Coporation, providing card management and EFT solutions to the financial industry. Prior to eFunds, German served in senior level capacities for Ingenico, one of the largest providers of Point of Sales solutions to the financial and retail industries.. Prior to this, Mr. Gonzalez served as Consulting Manager for Gemplus, the worldwide leader in providing smart-card based solutions to the financial industry as well as served as head of application development for Systar, VeriFone’s largest distributor in the South America market.

German holds a Masters Degree in Computer Science from the Universidad Simon Bolivar, Caracas, Venezuela and also holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Escuela Europea de Negocios, Madrid, Spain.
